The SATV process

4. Customer creates voucher
Before conducting a training, your customer must first activate their SATV benefit, and then assign it to your organization.
Resources

Below are the steps your customer must take to create the voucher. (Watch a video demonstrating this process—video in English.)
Activate voucher benefit
The company's Software Assurance Benefits (SAB) administrator must activate the SATV benefit through the Volume Licensing Service Center (VLSC). The benefit only has to be activated one time, and the entire number of training days allotted to the organization will be activated for use. The steps are as follows:
  1. Sign in to VLSC using a Microsoft account associated with the SAB administrator.
  2. Select View Software Assurance Benefits, then select the benefit from the Software Assurance Summary list.
  3. Select the Licensing Agreement Number under which you wish to activate your SATV benefit and view the Benefits Available for Activation pane.
  4. To activate the benefit, select the SA Training Voucher benefit name and follow the instructions in the subsequent screens.
Create and assign voucher
After activating the benefit, the benefits administrator can create and assign SA training vouchers to employees by entering the employee name, corporate email address, and number of days the voucher is worth. After a SA training voucher has been created and assigned, the employee has 180 days to use the voucher before it expires.
  1. Under Training Benefits Detail, review the number of Eligible Agreement Training Days and then select Create Training Vouchers.
  2. View training vouchersCreate training vouchers
  3. Enter the following data to create a training voucher:
    • The name of the employee to receive training
    • The employee’s corporate email address
    • The length of the voucher, which can range from 1 to 5 days
  4. If the course length is unknown, it is best to select 5 days. If fewer than 5 days are ultimately needed for the course, and if the customer’ agreement is still active, the remaining days will automatically go back into the customer’s training voucher pool once the voucher has been paid to the training partner.
  5. Select Add Voucher, then Submit Voucher List. This creates and assigns the voucher to the employee.
  6. An email containing the voucher’s details is sent to the corporate email address entered at the time of voucher creation. This email will contain the voucher number, voucher expiration date, and the name of the Benefits Administrator who created and assigned it.
  7. Employees can then choose a participating Microsoft Learning partner who offers an SATV-eligible course they want to take. To reserve training, employees must provide the partner with the SA training voucher details found in their voucher confirmation email.
    • Note: the customer must provide you with the correct voucher number and email addresss in order for you to reserve that voucher.
